Static Fire Damper Systems
Static fire damper applications are where the HVAC systems fans are automatically shut down in the event of a fire and for use in air transfer openings in walls or partitions. The static-rated fire damper is only tested for use when there is no airflow present in the system.
All Duro Dyne static damper frames and blades are constructed with 22 gauge roll-formed galvanized steel and have replaceable 165°F or 212°F fusible links.
Dynamic Fire Damper Systems
Dynamic fire damper applications are where the HVAC systems remain operational in the event of a fire. In situations where the air distribution system continues to operate and moves air through the opening after smoke or heat from a fire has been detected, the damper must be labeled as a dynamic system damper that is capable of closing against airflow pressure. Dynamic dampers must be tested and labeled for closure under the HVAC system design airflow and operating pressure conditions.
All Duro Dyne A-DY, B-DY, C-DY, and D-DY dynamic damper frames and blades are constructed with 22 gauge roll-formed galvanized steel and have replaceable 165°F or 212°F fusible links. Duro Dyne FDD-MB-3V dynamic damper frames have a roll-formed galvanized steel hat section with staked corners and internal bracing. All FDD-MB-3V blades are constructed with 16 gauge roll-formed galvanized steel and have 165°F or 212°F fusible links.
Combination Fire/Smoke Dampers
Combination Fire/Smoke Dampers meet both the specific test standards for fire and smoke situations and are rated as combination fire and smoke dampers. A combination fire/smoke damper can close when heat from a fire is detected or when smoke is detected by a smoke detector.
Used to control airflow within a duct system. Roll-formed galvanized steel hat section with staked corners and integral bracing. Bronze oilite bearings press-fit into frame.
Facilitating safe access to ductwork. Hinged or Cam design.
