For running cable to a knockout, the locknut connector has traditionally been king—and Bridgeport has traditionally been the king of locknut connectors. This classic, time-tested design makes a secure connection with the electrical box by using a screw-on locknut.
Locknut connectors excel in some installations, but they are not without downsides. They take time to install, since each locknut has to be hand-wound down to form a good connection, and if installed improperly they don’t actually meet code. In applications where speed and ease-of-installation are more important, snap-in connectors can be a better choice.
In many of the applications that locknut connectors have traditionally ruled, a snap-in connector like E-Z Lock can often get the same job done faster. The high-performance Bridgeport design snaps into place and removes easily.
E-Z Lock forms an outstanding system bond in the knockout. Even less-experienced installers can complete large projects quickly due to the simple snap-in mechanism, plus these connectors accept a wide range of cable types and sizes.
